A graduate of the College of Staten Island where he received the BS in art, Stephen Szoke studied printmaking with Herman Zaage at the Art Lab. The great-great grandson of Kate Walker, the keeper of Robbins Reef Lighthouse, he is an accomplished etcher who exhibits with the Staten Island artists’ collective, Open Art Surgery. His etching of the lighthouse is part of the museum’s exhibition, Robbins Reef Lighthouse: A Home in the Harbor.
